AI Policy
IDSA Reporter is committed to providing timely, clinically relevant, accurate, and ethically developed content for infectious diseases professionals. We recognize both the potential value and limitations of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in medical publishing.
AI tools may be used to support aspects of content creation, including drafting, summarization, and editing. Their use must be responsible, transparent, and consistent with standards for scientific rigor and editorial integrity. AI is intended to augment—not replace—clinical expertise, critical thinking, and human judgment.
All published content must be attributed to a human author who assumes full responsibility for its accuracy and interpretation. Material must undergo thorough human review to help ensure it reflects current evidence, minimizes bias, and meets the expectations of a clinical audience.
This policy applies to all contributors, including clinicians, researchers, and members of the editorial team. As AI capabilities and their use continue to evolve, IDSA Reporter will periodically update this policy to align with best practices in medical publishing and digital ethics.
